Manuel Baum studied sport and economics as a teacher and sports science (specializing in economics and management) at the TU and LMU in Munich.
He has coached FC Augsburg and FC Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga. He also coached the DFB U20 national team.
As an expert, he appears in various football formats, including Sky (Matchplan; Sky90, BL der Sonntag), MagentaSport (World Cup, European Championship), Sport1 Doppelpass, and on his social media channel "Tiefenlauf". Manuel Baum also founded the companies B-N-E Sports GmbH (has been supplying various broadcasters with tactical content for years) and LABBB GmbH (deals with AI and ML in soccer to generate meaningful soccer insights).
He is currently head of the RB Leipzig academy.
