The second edition of SportsInnovation is getting closer. On 11 and 12 May 2022, the event will take place in the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA in Düsseldorf.

With the idea of creating an international platform for new technological developments in elite sports, SportsInnovation celebrated its premiere 2018 at the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA in Düsseldorf. The trade fair which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, is now in the preparation phase for its renewed staging.

For the second time, the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA will be the place where technology and innovation meet high-performance sport. The multifunctional arena in Düsseldorf is a venue that is ideally suited for the SportsInnovation. It is not only a Bundesliga stadium, but also a venue for concerts by stars such as Bon Jovi or Die Toten Hosen as well as a location for other major sporting events. For example, it has been awarded the Invictus Games (2023) or the opening match of the European Handball Championship 2024 with a record capacity of around 50,000 seats.

The MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA is also an ideal venue for the SportsInnovation. The boxes and the Business Club offer exhibitors space and the opportunity to present their applications and services. The arena pitch becomes the location for the Innovation Games. At this centrepiece of the fair, technological innovations will be demonstrated live during several football matches. Connected by a central stage, the SportsInnovation Talk and Information rounds will take place here with top-class discussion partners from the sports and technology sector.
