A successful start to SportsInnovation 2018
The first ever SportsInnovation got off to a great start in the trade fair market. From May 8th to May 9th 2018, Messe Düsseldorf organized this exciting event, in conjunction with the DFL, the German Football League, which is an innovative force in international elite sports.
SportsInnovation unites a trade fair and presentations in the boxes as well as in the Platinum Club of the Düsseldorf Esprit Arena with the focal topics of game analysis, broadcasting and stadium experience. In addition, live football games delivered the latest game and player data for further verification. The launch of the trade fair was well received by the exhibiting industries (47 exhibitors from 11 countries) and the visitors, who numbered over 920 in all, stemming from 21 countries, as Achim Ittner (SAP SE) confirmed: “We were able to have a lot of interesting discussions with the national and international sporting community. People commented that the concept and event location were ideal and fit for the top of the league.”
Werner M. Dornscheidt, the Messe Düsseldorf CEO, is convinced by the SportsInnovation concept: “Messe Düsseldorf, together with DFL, has the opportunity to create a format that produces completely new stimuli for sports event marketing. This is our core skill: creating test environments for industries which offer real additional benefits for the players involved. The live presentations create a winning platform that demonstrates how to execute high-class events in modern event locations”.
The next SportsInnovation will be held at the Düsseldorf Arena in 2020.
